Roaring Twenties Bingo
The 1920s was a time of great change in the United States. People were leaving the countryside and moving to the cities. Prohibition occurred between 1920-1933 when the 18th amendment stopped the sale of alcoholic beverages in the United States. Prohibition gave criminals a way to make money by selling illegal booze. In 1920 the 19th amendment to the United States Constitution gave women the right to vote and declared they deserved full citizenship. In the 1920s many women, called flappers, cut off their long hair and wore short skirts, a practice many people felt was unladylike. Henry Ford revolutionized factory production of inexpensive automobiles during the roaring 20s changing America forever, allowing them to travel great distances for the first time.
